The Californian Supreme Court has just allowed the vote to ban same-sex marriage in the state to go forward in November.
Sigh. Folks really need to find something else to worry about than who other folks want to marry. Maybe they should worry about the price of gas, or the collapsing economy...or, since this is California we're talking about their tan.
The court on Wednesday denied a petition to remove the initiative from the state's general election ballots. The unanimous decision was handed down without elaboration.
Hundreds of marriage licenses have been issued to same-sex couples since mid-June, a month after the court overturned the state's laws against such unions.
I would hope that the next president to be, Obama, will step in a make a strong statement about this. That would be showing leadership.
