Another reason why the students involved in the Black History Month "ghetto party" should be expelled, other students follow their example and up the ante. A student has been suspended after she admits to hanging a noose in the library.
The University of California San Diego has suspended a student who admitted to hanging a noose in a campus library, school officials announced Friday.
"We are feeling real pain, and we will take real action," said UCSD chancellor Marye Anne Fox told reporters. "The safety of our students, faculty, and staff is my primary concern."
The student, whose identity was not released, admitted Friday to police at the University of California San Diego that she hung a noose Thursday night in the library, police said...
The noose incident occurred two weeks after Black History Month was mocked in an off-campus party that was condemned by the school.
Dumbass see, dumbass do. All the students involved in this foolishness should be expelled. Since they obviously care more about harassing, humiliating and terrorizing fellow students than getting an education then they shouldn't mind leaving.
Meanwhile the rest of the student body expressed their outrage over the uptick in these racist incidents and the school's response, or lack thereof.
What appeared to be hundreds of students took part in the protest which began at 8 a.m. Friday on the library walk. Hundreds of people sat silently in a large group wearing black and listening to fellow students who said that they are tired and hurt after nearly two weeks of racially-charged events.
“When they see UCSD and when they see a noose hanging at UCSD well I say they got to see us too,” one student said referring to the students upset over the noose discovery.
Another speaker at the protest, Vernon used a megaphone to tell students to stay strong. “What [the students] are trying to do is let people know they’re not going to stand for racism,“ said Vernon. “The students are afraid and they need to know what the chancellor is going to do to keep them safe on the campus while they’re here to learn.”
Students pay good money for their education. Black students' money is just as green as everyone else's, they deserve a campus where they not only feel safe, but welcomed. It is long past time for the school officials to send a clear message to the racist element on campus that their actions will not be tolerated. Suspensions are for little kids who don't know any better and need a soft touch, these are young adults with enough life experiences to know that spewing such hatred is ignorant and dangerous, expel them.

However, as we grow and mature we come to the realization that what we were told by our family when we were children were slanted lies base on their prejudices. We realize that most people are like ourselves and not so different and want the same things, like a home, steady work, a Medicare plan and schools for our children (if you travel you will see this). We realize that most people are of good hearts and goodwill.
This reminds me of a parable from the good book where a Levite and Priest come upon a man who fell among thieves and they both individually passed by and didn’t stop to help him.
Finally a man of another race came by, he got down from his beast, decided not to be compassionate by proxy and got down with the injured man, administered first aid, and helped the man in need.
Jesus ended up saying, this was the good man, this was the great man, because he had the capacity to project the “I” into the “thou,” and to be concerned about his fellow man.
You see, the Levite and the Priest were afraid, they asked themselves, “If I stop to help this man, what will happen to me?”
But then the Good Samaritan came by. And he reversed the question: “If I do not stop to help this man, what will happen to him?”
That’s the question before us. The question is not, “If I stop to help our fellow man in need, what will happen to me?” The question is, “If I do not stop to help our fellow man, what will happen to him or her?” That’s the question.
This current climate of blaming, mocking and demeaning others for our own short comings, is not new, we have had this before and we have conquered it.
Remember “Evil flourishes when good men (and women) do nothing”. Raise your voices with those of us who believe we are equal and we can win this battle again.
