Senator John McCain made a public pledge to block the possible nomination of US Ambassador to the UN, Susan Rice, as Secretary of State. He is angry at Rice's comments she made in the aftermath of the Sep 11 attacks in Benghazi, Libya. Those comments Rice made are McCain's ONLY source he used to declare her unsuitable, unqualified and unprepared to be Secretary of State. Two words Senator - Sarah Palin!
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said on Wednesday that U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice is “not qualified” to become secretary of state and he called her claim that the deadly attack on the diplomatic facility in Benghazi was a spontaneous demonstration “not very bright.”
“She’s not qualified,” McCain said on CBS’s “This Morning.” “Anyone who goes on national television and in defiance of the facts, five days later — We’re all responsible for what we say and what we do. I’m responsible to my voters. She’s responsible to the Senate of the United States. We have our responsibility for advice and consent.”
Many GOP senators remain angry about Rice claiming, in the days after the Benghazi attacks that killed four Americans, that the assault grew out of a spontaneous demonstration sparked by an anti-Islam film.
CIA-supplied talking points backed up what Rice said on the Sunday shows after the attack, according to a Washington Post report. But McCain said that was irrelevant.
“Because it was four dead Americans,” McCain said. “She told the American people on every major newscast in America. If a select committee, if appointed, clears her of any wrongdoing — besides not being very bright, because it was obvious this was not a, quote ‘flash mob.’ There was no demonstration.”
McCain was even more blunt on “Fox And Friends.”
“I will do everything in my power to block her from being the United States Secretary of State,” he said. “She has proven that she either doesn’t understand or she is not willing to accept evidence on its face.” Link
Well, so McCain now has high standards as to who should be Secretary of State? And his ability to judge what the qualifications are, well one needs to look no further than to see his selection for VP back in 2008. Enough said?
McCain also compared the Benghazi attacks where 4 Americans died to Watergate and the Iran-Contra, stating "nobody died". How pathetic is he to compare apples to oranges.
The best comparison is to look at the Bush years where under his administration, 43 Americans were killed in consulates and embassies around the world. But of course, how silent McCain and the GOP were about those events. Hypocites!
2002: U.S. Consulate In Karachi, Pakistan, Attacked; 10 Killed, 51 Injured. 2004: U.S. Embassy Bombed In Uzbekistan, 2 killed. 2004: Gunmen Stormed U.S. Consulate in Saudi Arabia, 8 killed. 2006: Armed Men Attacked U.S. Embassy in Syria. 2007: Grenade Launched Into U.S. Embassy in Athens. 2008: Rioters Set Fire to U.S. Embassy in Serbia. 2008: Ten People Killed In Bombings At U.S. Embassy In Yemen.
These attacks all occurred during G.W. Bush’s Presidency!

McCain, you are becoming insignificant, irrelevant and bitter in your old age.
Obama beat you in 2008, get over it!
