Former Bush advisor, Karen Hughes, lashes out at her Republican Party leaders on the subject of Rape that galvanized her party due to comments made by Todd Aikens and Richard Mourdock.

Former President George W. Bush advisor and soccer mom Karen Hughes has threatened to "cut the tongue out" of any Republican who talks about rape in an op-ed for Politico.com.

Republican Rep. Todd Aiken of Missouri and Republican Indiana State Treasurer Richard Mourdock both made dismissive and strange statements about rape during their 2012 races -- and both lost last Tuesday.

Hughes writes in Politco.com:

Finally, the Republican Party has to set a tone that is more respectful, positive and inclusive. The immigration rhetoric that came out of the Republican primary seemed harsh, unwelcoming and offputting to many minority voters...

...And if another Republican man says anything about rape other than it is a horrific, violent crime, I want to personally cut out his tongue. The college-age daughters of many of my friends voted for Obama because they were completely turned off by Neanderthal comments like the suggestion of “legitimate rape.” Link

Meow! Kitty has claws! And why aim so high with the tongue? Go South!
Unfortunately, her claws came out AFTER the election which tells me she is still an operative for the GOP and not a true advocate for Women. She did not condemn the position made by Aikens and Mourdock, she condemns them for saying it in their context - in public. So its not the policy she opposes, its the rhetoric. And its the rhetoric that turned her college-age daughters and most of America away from the GOP ticket.

So, my question is - was Karen Hughes "concern" more about losing votes for her party or about the issue of rape? My guess would be, there would be no repudiation if both Aikens and Mourdock won their seat. So Ms Hughes, too little, too late, too typical!

Anywho, I say let the religious, white male folks speak their minds - its better for America to see and hear their true colors during the campaign than to find out after they get elected. America needs to know if politicians will crossed that line to impose their religious beliefs upon how they legislate - will they eviscerate the Separation of Church and State?

For freedom of every American - Separation of Church and State must be paramount!
