This possible candidate for the 2012 Presidency is a complete dunce! Palin demanded the firing of Rahm Emanuel for saying the liberal activist strategy on health care was “f–king retarded". But her voice was very passive when her chummy pal, Rush Limbaugh, used the same "R"word - repeatedly on his radio show.
Rush Limbaugh has pounced on Rahm Emanuel's "retarded" blunder and is using the same offensive term to bludgeon his enemies on the left.
On yesterday's episode of "The Rush Limbaugh Show," the right-wing icon used the firestorm surrounding Obama's chief of staff as cover to blast liberal activists as "retards,” and suggest a "retard summit" is in the offing at the White House.
The embattled Emanuel sat down yesterday afternoon at the White House with a group of advocates for the disabled to apologize for hurling the phrase "f---ing retarded" during a closed-door strategy session in August.
The slur, reported last week, was thrust in the spotlight after Sarah Palin called for Rahm to be fired in a Facebook post.
Palin, whose son has Downs syndrome, likened Rahm's expletive to use of the N-word.
Limbaugh, on whose show Palin has appeared at least twice, clearly has none of his fellow conservative's apprehension about using the term as a pejorative.
"Our political correct society is acting like some giant insult’s taken place by calling a bunch of people who are retards, retards," Limbaugh said on the show. "I mean these people, these liberal activists are kooks.
"They are loony tunes. And I’m not going to apologize for it, I’m just quoting Emanuel. It’s in the news," he continued.
"I think their big news is he’s out there calling Obama’s number one supporters f’ing retards. So now there’s going to be a meeting. There’s going to be a retard summit at the White House. Much like the beer summit between Obama and Gates and that cop in Cambridge." Link
So according to the world of Palin, using the word "retarded" is equivalent to the use of the N-word - and this justifies his/her firing.
But I add ...... Only if made by a Liberal.
Emanuel directed his expletive to describe another Liberal - in a private meeting. Limbaugh used the R-word directed to Liberals and to the advocates for the mentally handicap - publicly on his radio show - on air. Limbaugh even added that he makes no apology over it.
Of course when pressed against the wall about her silence towards Limbaugh, Palin had a spokesperson respond:
“Governor Palin believes crude and demeaning name calling at the expense of others is disrespectful.” Link
Gee - where's the outrage in this response? Very generic and passive.
And I noticed Limbaugh's name was not even mentioned.
Today on Fox News - Palin was asked again about her calming response towards Limbaugh use of the "R" word. She cheerfully dismissed it as satire.
But the former governor went to great and sometimes awkward lengths to insist that when conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh used the same exact term to describe the same exact group, it was simply in the role of political humorist.
"They are kooks, so I agree with Rush Limbaugh," she said, when read a quote of Limbaugh calling liberal groups "retards." "Rush Limbaugh was using satire ... . I didn't hear Rush Limbaugh calling a group of people whom he did not agree with 'f-ing retards,' and we did know that Rahm Emanuel, as has been reported, did say that. There is a big difference there."
There is a difference?????
Limbaugh called a meeting of advocates for the mentally handicapped "a retard summit"!
"Our political correct society is acting like some giant insults taken place by calling a bunch of people who are retards, retards" and "I think their big news is he's out there calling Obama's number one supporters f'ing retards. So now there's going to be a meeting. There's going to be a retard summit at the White House".
Damn!
So if "hurtful" words are presented in the fabric and light of humor or political satire, this is an acceptable format of using a word that she feels is equivalent to the N-word. Is this Correct??!
So Limbaugh had played a role as a "political humorist" and the American public should not be offended.
Hmmmmm!
Was this explained to David Letterman back in June 2009?
Letterman is a late-night talk show host. His role is a comedian full-time. He did a monologue on stage where he makes jokes on all politicians, celebrities and people in general. When he made a joke on Palin's expense, we all know the firestorm that happened after that. Link
Clearly, Palin is clearly hypocritical and agenda-base.
She is the number one Conservative Retard of the GOP!
