Gay marriage is still a controversial subject, but in every civilized, educated and westernized country in the world, just being Gay is not an issue anymore. But take a look at Uganda - this country is still living in the dark ages! According to a new Anti-Homosexual bill they want to pass, anyone engaging in homosexual activity can be executed.
Washington (CNN) -- President Obama on Thursday strongly criticized controversial anti-homosexuality legislation being considered by Uganda's legislature.
It is "unconscionable to target gays or lesbians for who they are," Obama said during an appearance at the National Prayer Breakfast.
The measure being considered in Uganda is "odious," he added.
The organization which sponsors the breakfast, the Fellowship Foundation, has been associated with efforts to pass the bill, according to the ethics group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington.
The measure would punish sexual activity between persons of the same sex with long jail terms or death.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton also criticized the bill during an appearance at the breakfast. Link
So who is responsible for the genesis of this hateful Bill?
Christianity, of course!
According to the census of 2002, Christians made up about 84% of Uganda's population. The Roman Catholic Church has the largest number of adherents (41.9%), followed by the Anglican Church of Uganda (35.9%).
Christians are so unreal. The country of Uganda is plagued by war, genocide, illiteracy, famine, disease, economic turmoil, denial of basic human rights, etc and what is on top of their political list to enact legislation and "correct?" - Homosexuality! Yeah - being gay is more of a danger to the lives of Ugandan citizens than illiteracy, war and famine.
Even pathetic Pastor Rick Warren refused to condemn this Bill. Link
Yes America, these God-Loving-Christians would advocate the imprisonment and EXECUTION of any Ugandan citizen for being Gay (it even extends to those who are HIV+). Christians want to revert this country back to the dark ages where witch burning and torture is acceptable - only if done on human beings they find unacceptable.
This is why Theocracy is so dangerous! Christians have always be able to pick and choose what the "Bible says". They only follow and enforce the "laws" that they feel are applicable to their distaste on a certain group of people. And yet, they choose not to follow scriptures that would condemn themselves or their fellow brethrens, namely adultery and adulterers. Yes, ladies and gentlemen - the Bible has scripture in practically every book condemning adultery - it is spoken 100 times more than homosexuality - but yet, it gets dismissed rather conveniently. Imagine a country passing a bill executing Adulterers! Pffft! There would be no male politicians running for office.
The Bible also preaches against idolatry. So lets execute every American who practice Capitalism because money is idol worship.
I have come to believe Christianity is an Oxymoron (just drop the oxy and the shoe fits)! They Love to Hate!
