Color of Change has brought real change for bigot blowhard Glenn Beck. More than 30 advertisers have dropped their ads from his show.
Glenn Beck is a reich-wing talk show host who spouted these little gems of wisdom, that Obama was a "racist", who had "a deep-seated hatred for white people." Oh really? Well the people of this country did not sit idly by while talking heads like Beck attempt to undermine the president.
Beck, was actually on another Fox show July 28 when he referred to Obama as a racist with "a deep-seated hatred for white people." The network immediately distanced itself from Beck's statement, but Beck didn't. He used his radio show the next day to explain why he believed that. He would not comment for this article, spokesman Matthew Hiltzik said.
ColorofChange.org quickly targeted companies whose ads had appeared during Beck's show, telling them what he had said and seeking a commitment to drop him. The goal is to make Beck a liability, said James Rucker, the organization's executive director...A total of 33 Fox advertisers, including Walmart, CVS Caremark, Clorox and Sprint, directed that their commercials not air on Beck's show, according to the companies and ColorofChange.org, a group that promotes political action among blacks and launched a campaign to get advertisers to abandon him. That's more than a dozen more than were identified a week ago.
I applaud the companies that have pulled their ads from this toxic talking head's show. Perhaps if he loses all of his advertisers the Faux News Network will begin to rethink Beck's employment status. I know, I won't hold my breath, but a girl can hope...after all Faux News is out to make money, and lost advertisers is lost dollars.
Everyone, keep the pressure on. Write, email, and urge the remaining advertisers to drop Glenn Beck from their rotation, let them know that you won't use their products or services as long as they continue to feed this beast.
