A Sign of the Times - Racist Obama Sign

E-mail Print
Share
Just in case anyone was wondering why McCain is even still in the running with the economy collapsing and a endless war going on...this is why.

A sign in one man's front yard has stirred up a controversy in his community.

Neighbors of Andy Lacasse said the sign, which reads "Obama Half-Breed Muslin [sic]," breaches the fine line between free speech and inappropriateness.

"I got nothing good to say about Obama," Lacasse told News 13. "If I see anybody touching that sign, I got a club sitting right over there."

Lacasse put the sign on his lawn Saturday. A Korean War veteran, he said he was a registered Democrat until Obama won the nomination.

This "person" was quite content to be a Democrat and vote for the party ticket until a black man was running for president...that obviously is just too much for him to swallow.  Nevermind that Bush has run our country into a hole and that electing McCain will only dig the hole deeper. Nevermind, that as a veteran he has been directly adversely affected by Bush's policies. No. The real outrage to him is that a black man dare run for the presidency.

I post this because I want everyone to realize that this man is not alone, there are quite a few people out there who feel exactly the same way. Some are not as vocal about it as this man, but share his views they do.

Because this man is not some strange abberration, I want us to push hard to get the vote out among the rest of the sane population.  We will need every single vote we can get if Obama is to be president.

Let's not fall for the "cumbaya" trap. The everyone is color blind, how can anyone not love Barack kind of thinking is not going to work.  We need to aggressively convert those who can be converted...and those like this "person" in the story aggressively try to make McCain/Palin so unpalatable to them that they will at least stay home. Do not worry about offending them...they would NEVER vote for Barack anyway. What we want from the bigots is for them to stay home and stew in their small minded juices. This will win the election for Barack/Biden.

Yes We Can!

Are you registered to vote?

Sure there are other idiots who share this persons views, but thank God such people are in the minority in todays America.

It is very ignorant of you to suggest that because this person and others exist that this alone is reason to vote for Obama.

If one is too vote for Obama they should vote for him because they agree with him.

I am not voting for him because I disagree with him and infact believe he is a dangerous person given his worldview.

You have further demonstrated ignorance on your part with your comments regarding Bush and his supposed running our country into the ground.

But that would require too much time to deal with in this medium at this time.

Bush DID NOT run this country into the ground?

What planet have you been living on?

Did you not hear about all of the financial collapses? You know Freddie Mac, IndyMac, etc etc etc.

Whose policies do you think are responsible for that, the tooth fairy?

I won\'t be sharing my canned goods with you when our economy goes belly up. Go back to redstate troll.

You seem to be very intolerant of the people living in redstates. What happened to the tolerant liberal attitude?

I read a study recently that stated the difference between the way Democrats and Republicans perceived each other.

Republicans tend to view Democrats as well meaning but misguided.

Democrats tend to view Republicans as evil.

That doesn\'t speak well of the so-called open-mindedness of Democrats.

I notice you didn\'t comment on the actual article.

Typical GOP tactic. If you can\'t refute with any actual facts, try a personal attack.

By the way, have a link to this mysterious study?

Actually, I am not a Republican, nor am I a Democrat. I vote for whoever makes the most sense.

And to be honest Ms. Jones, a Pew Research Center study in late 2006 found that the majority of Democrats consider themselves either conservative or moderate. On 19% considered themselves as liberal. It might interest you to know that there is even a significant number of Republicans who consider themselves as Liberal.

My parents were a Conservative Democrat and a Liberal Republican. I was taught to think for myself and not to be confined by party rhetoric. In some areas I am somewhat liberal. For example, I have no problems with Abortions. In other areas, I am very conservative...I believe that the Constitution recognizes the god given rights (not grants, but acknowledges) including the right to own guns.

The only candidates who I think made sense are not in the running (no, not Gore, who I know you liked -- his multiple faces keep getting in the way).

All I can do is laugh at the ignorance of the sign. Not only is Obama not muslin, a type of cotton fabric, but he is not Muslim either. And why should it matter if he were? Are we really that stuck in the stone age that we can\'t accept and respect a person whether or not we accept their religion? Gods forbid (oh, no! I said gods, everyone hate me!) that someone should believe something different then you, the world is going to end! Crawl into your bomb shelter for we are surely doomed!

And yes, Bush HAS run this country into a hole. If you seriously think the economy is doing well, you need to open your eyes take a look around because you are living in a naive fantasy world.

If we have to live through another term with a Republican president, I may crawl into the hole with our country until 2013.

Bush, all by himself, huh? You mean the Democratic congress didn\'t contribute anything to the perceived problems.

For those of you not trained in economics, the definition of a recession is three consecutive quarters with a negative GPD growth. We haven\'t had a single quarter of negative GPD growth. Some facets of the economy suffering does not mean the whole economy has collapsed.

Looks like not everyone is trained in economics including you.

It\'s not \"GPD\" as you have written. It\'s GDP (Gross Domestic Product).

Had to correct you because I studied economics.

And yes...Bush has run the country into the ground.

I appreciate the correction. Sometimes my fingers transpose letters when I\'m typing.

As for education, I have several engineering degrees and a MBA. Not a professional economist, but much more objective in analyzing facts.

The government\'s policy (be it Executive or Legislative) didn\'t lead to these issues. The strong housing market led the financial companies into making bad loans to unqualified people...this wasn\'t the fault of the government but people letting greed overcome intelligence.

@Mr Anony ...
I like how you tooted your own horn.
So, having an academic degree plus an advanced degree - gives credibility and validity to one\'s argument.
Though you are not an economist - being educated with a masters degree allow one to be more objective in analyzing facts.
I have to say i agree wholeheartedly!

I even like to add that receiving a degree from a prominent university adds some prestige to a person\'s character.

Hmmmm ...... what am i thinking?

Biden: 76th of 85 in his law school. Failing one class for plagiarizing paper. Convinced school to let him take class over and expunge grade. Why bring up McCain\'s placement if not the others?

Placement in class is no guarantee of success. Grant graduated at bottom of West Point class, but he did better than McClellan who graduated at top of his.

I knew the truth would eventually come out! Hopefully now someone will expose the other horrible things about Obama like he is a synthetic blend, that is a satin weave, and that he is less than 800 count!

Well, if only the McCain Camp would release Palin\'s GPA and ranking - I would love to see it.

But lets get back on topic:
Do you agree that education gives an individual a much stronger objective in analyzing facts (as you have said) - even if the topic was not what the individual had majored in?

If we can convince them to stay home forever we may be able to reform this country, finally.

running for any political office with that kind of platform ignorance like McCane and Shady Palin should be Illegal.

Get Rid of the Electoral Congress NOW :!:
