Any corporation can have decades of success and profitability. One bad incident resulting in death of a consumer can (and will) destroy the corporation. If they can survive this disaster, it will take years (even decades) to regain customer confidence and loyalty. Toyota may also face Federal charges.
This Recall is beyond bad - this is destructive for Toyota! No corporation can survive this horrific PR.
Listen to this 911 emergency call where the driver can't stop his car (exceeding 120 miles per hour). He and all his passengers died after colliding with another vehicle in an intersection.
Initially, Toyota redirected the blame on the wrong-size floor mat or driver error but as more and more complaints, accidents and deaths rose - Toyota finally issued the massive Recall this past month. An estimated 4 million cars are affected!
I cannot see Toyota rebound from this. They will not survive.
