ORLANDO, Fla. — Orange County Sheriff’s deputies and the FBI are continuing to search a wooded area Sunday for clues in the case of missing toddler, Caylee Marie Anthony.
On Thursday, a meter reader found a child’s skull less than a quarter-mile from the home of Caylee’s grandparents. Orange Sheriff’s spokesman Carlos Padilla wouldn’t say what else has been recovered.
Caylee, then 2, was reported missing in July, about a month after she was last seen by her grandparents, George and Cindy Anthony. The toddler’s mother, Casey Anthony, was charged in October with first-degree murder, but she and her parents have insisted for months that the girl was alive, kidnapped by a baby sitter.
Anthony family attorney Brad Conway arrived at the Anthonys’ residence at 1:30 p.m. to meet with his clients.
At the nearby crime scene, neighbors and onlookers gathered and the makeshift memorial to Caylee continued to grow with flowers, teddy bears and other trinkets.
Darleen Mahoney, 39, said she drove to Orlando from Kingsland, Ga., last night to bring flowers to the site. She said she has been following the case on an online message board.
Mahoney said she was surprised they found the remains of a small child so close to the Anthonys’ home.
"We overestimated (Casey). She had to have known at some point (Caylee) was going to be found." Link
No trace of Caylee was found until last week's discovery of a child's skull with duct tape wrapped around the mouth. The results of the DNA test will not be released for several more days according to authorities.
Evidence and Casey's behavior after Caylee's disappearance shows a guilty murderer.
If the DNA test shows that Casey murdered her own child - this monster of a woman MUST face the death penalty!
