I think it is prepared to use the government if it can get control of it. I think that it is a very dangerous threat to anybody who believes in traditional religion. And I think if you believe in historic Christianity, you have to confront the fact. And, frank -- for that matter, if you believe in the historic version of Islam or the historic version of Judaism, you have to confront the reality that these secular extremists are determined to impose on you acceptance of a series of values that are antithetical, they're the opposite, of what you're taught in Sunday school. In my opinion, the real fascists among us are the Evangelical Christian Fundamentalists. These political Bible-Thumping Believers (disguised as Conservative Republicans) are infiltrating the American Government, with a Christian Agenda to turn America into a Christian Theocracy. They want strong Believers in all 3 branches of Government to place their hand on the Constitution and uphold the Bible. They want to suppress and remove anyone who are non-believers of their Jesus Christ. They strive to make the authority of the United States rest on the Bible (and dismiss the Constitution).
Why do you think unvetted Mooseburger Sarah Palin was so popular with this group (and still is today). Hell, she could be a College dropout and completely unknowledgeable in American History - they would still vote her into the White House. They have forgiven and dismissed all unfamily values (ie. high-school dropout, pregnant teenage daughter and shot-gun wedding to father of child) just as long as she fulfill their agenda.
Fundamentalists do not see failed credentials, lack of experience nor poor qualifications - if you are a Born-Again Pro-Life Christian, you've got their vote. I am still daunted with Palin schlepping her daughter Bristol and Levi Johnston around the country as poster children for Pro-Life. Pffft!
Remember another fundamentalist, George W. tried to appoint an ill-prepared and uninformed on Constitutional Law, Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court??!! Her main qualification? She is strongly Pro-Life and she will overturn Roe V. Wade.
