Probably the most pressing issue of Election 2008 is going to be the War In Iraq, and it’s toll on not only the American Economy, but also on bringing home our troops. With the death toll near the 4000 mark, many are wanting to cut our losses and start withdrawals. While this seems like a grand quest, it is a fact, that to maintain Iraq’s stability there will need to be an outside presence for quite some time.
I personally think we are going about this whole situation in the wrong way. Not only can we solve the above mentioned issue, we can also solve another issue that is draining our economy and resources, the overcrowded prison population.
Iraq is an urban war, a war like we have never fought before. We just happen to have all of America’s best “urban warriors” locked up in our prison system, in the way of the notorius street gangs. So I ask you this. Why not release all the bloods, crips, and various other street gangs, give them weapons, and tell them Iraq is there for the taking?
I can see the headlines now, “Bin Laden Innocent By Standing In Drive By Shooting”.
