Written by ChiMeng Chang on Sunday, 27 July 2008
TG Conferences are great opportunities for transgender, intersex, genderqueer and other gendervariant folks, as well as their significant others, friends, families and allies to expand their knowledge and skill base around issues pertinent to these populations.

Camp Trans - An annual protest of the Michigan Womyn's Music Festival's womyn-born-womyn only policy that excludes transwomyn. Contact the organizers for location information. August 5-10, 2008. MI.

Fantasia Fair - A week-long transgender event that attracts people from the entire range of the GLBTI community. More than a conference, more than a vacation. October 19-26, 2008. Provincetown, MA.

Translating Identity Conference - Translating Identity is a free conference focusing on gender and gender identities. Some panels will be directed towards trans people and others will be for those who are fairly unfamiliar with the transgender movement and the topic of gender identity. Date not yet set, 2008. Burlington, VT.

Museum in New Orleans Celebrates the Coctail......

I can’t think of a more fitting location for this museum other than the Betty Ford Clinic.
It celebrates history through libations and is located near the French Quarter. Did you know that during prohibition the bars were referred to as coffee houses and were frequented by both men and women?
