Sony should be ashamed. First they claimed the title song to the Michael Jackson movie This Is It was new...it wasn't, it was an old demo. Now we find out that some of the concert vocals were dubbed in from old performances as well.
And now bosses at Sony Pictures, who produced the picture, admit they were forced to use old Jackson performances to aid the sound quality of the footage.
Spokesman Jim Kennedy says, "In order to fulfil Michael's vision for his fans and his children... the filmmakers had to incorporate some pre-existing materials, including vocals, where the rehearsal footage audio was incomplete and/or inaudible.
"In addition, usage of master recordings (such as Earth Song) was credited in the end titles."
So in other words, they duped the fans into believing they were watching actual footage from Michael's last performance, when actually they were watching a frankenstein-like creatiion from Sony, using the likeness of the late Michael...sort of like they do in those commercials with Elvis and other dead celebrities.
Seems like false advertisement to me. Refund anyone?
