Elisabeth Hasselbeck is being accused of plagiarism! She wrote a book, The G-Free Diet: A Gluten-Free Survival Guide, which became one of the a best-seller lists. This month, a lawsuit was filed in a Massachusetts federal court alleging that her book was plagiarized from another self-published book by Susan Hasset, a Cape Cod author.
"The View" co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck has been accused of plagiarism.
A lawsuit in federal court in Massachusetts alleges that Hasselbeck lifted "word for word" content from a book on celiac disease written by a self-published author on Cape Cod.
Hasselbeck's book, "The G-Free Diet: A Gluten-Free Survival Guide" has appeared over the last month in several best-selling lists.
The lawsuit was filed by author Susan Hassett, who says she sent Hasselbeck a copy of her "Living With Celiac Disease" book as a courtesy after the TV celebrity disclosed she had the illness last year.
A lawyer for Hassett declined to comment Tuesday. A phone message left with Hasselbeck's agent, Andy Cohen, was not immediately returned. Link
Hasselback suffers from gluten-related disease. Her book was how to live with a Gluten-Free diet. The other author, Susan Hassett, had a self-published book "Living with Celiac Disease".
Since it has been alleged - word for word - it would be easy to take both books and flip to the pages where they are identical.
If this is true - one of these ladies did plagiarized. Then it will be up to the courts to find out who published the book first.
Hasselbeck hasn’t responded to the allegations but I hear she is fighting it.
It would be interesting to see Hassett on the View to face Hasselbeck! I can see a cat fight brewing with Barbara as the Referee. Whoopi would just sit there and watch the mudslinging. Popcorn anyone?
The sage will be continued!
