The Miss USA Pageant was held live from Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. It came down to 2 contestants: Miss California, Carrie Prejean of San Diego and Miss North Carolina, Kristen Dalton of Wilmington. Lets cut to the chase: Miss North Carolina was crowned Miss USA 2009. But the shocker is why Miss California did not get the crown. It probably had to do with her answer when asked by Perez Hilton about same-sex marriage.Miss California was asked by contest judge and celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton for her views on gay marriage during the Miss USA pageant at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, samesame.com reports. Hilton asked this question: “Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalize same-sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit? Why or why not?” Link

Whew!
Her response got both cheers and boos!
First of all - this was not a good thing to say:
You know what, in my country, in my family, I do believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman, no offence to anybody out there.I guess we all know what she wanted to say but still - it just epitomizes the dumb blonde beauty icon. All looks and no brains! Press your ear against hers and you can hear the ocean.
Well, now to her answer - it certainly did not win her any favors with the judges nor the viewers.
Yes, she answered what she believe is her truth - I'll give her that but damn it, ask yourself who is asking the question?
Everyone knows that Perez Hilton is Queen of the Entertainment blogosphere. He has also campaigned for Gay Marriage and equal rights for Gay Americans. And you don't need a gaydar to know that Perez himself is Gay!
So, in any competition, you don't want to piss off the judge!
If Mel Gibson was standing before Judge Goldstein and he is the one who will decide Mel's fate, how should Mel answer if he was asked the question, "Are you an Anti-Semite"? Should Mel answer the plain and direct truth? Or be tactful?
In addition, Miss California apparently forgot where she was at. Its a beauty pageant! She forgot who her audience was. Its Entertainment, its Hollywood, its Gay Gay Gay! She just offended a large population of Gay viewers with her "no offense to anybody out there" response.
Gay Marriage is such a delicate issue and a hot topic across the US. Civil Rights are being taken away. Even though she is against it, she should have given a neutral answer if she wanted the crown. And being the face of Miss California - didn't she know her State was recently the center of the whole Proposition 8 debate? If she felt strongly against Gay Marriage, she should have prepared herself and be vetted in answering these type of questions before the media and the judges.
Well, Perez did not stop talking after the pageant had ended:
On a video blog on his website, Hilton said, “She lost not because she doesn’t believe in gay marriage, she lost because she’s a dumb bitch!”Read his blog: http://perezhilton.com/2009-04-20-miss-california-responds-to-the-controversy
Bottom line - if she wanted the crown, she needed to be politically correct!

What a Choice!
Yep - Dumb Blonde!
Well, Miss California is entitled to her opinion, but she shouldn\'t bitch and complain when she suffers the consequences of her statements.
Note to blondie if it weren\'t for the homos, there would be no beauty pageants. In fact half of the contestants in beauty pageants in the Philippines are men in drag.
