This is something I found rather funny. A member of our vacation group brought with him his housekeys. Okay - yes, you locked up your house before leaving for the airport, so of course, you would have your housekeys with you - I understand this. But what is funny and peculiar is that he brought it with him on our outings and excursions.
What is more peculiar is that, on the key ring, he also have keys to his brothers, his mom's and his girlfriend's home. He also have his parking garage door opener (the blue gadget). Its a whole set of keys that can weigh one down.
I asked my friend why did you bring this and more importantly, why is it on you now?
He answered that he is use to having keys in his pocket so I thought this is his 'security blanket'. But yet, here's the twist - he has another set of keys (with slightly less keys) in his other pocket. He tells me he has duplicates so that if his main set is lost, he has another set.
By carrying this on you - wouldn't the chance of losing your stuff more possible than to leave it with your luggage at the hotel?
I am now scratching my head.
I suddenly noticed that he also has his cell phone attached to his waist.
I know he doesn't have one of those international cellphones - so his US cellphone does not work in Panama. But its on him.
My friend is just one of those guys that keeps everything on him whether at home or abroad. Its his thing. I'll let it go.
I just think its more stuff to carry and imagine having to go through airport security with all that stuff.
